Product Details
The ICM-20948 is an ultra-low power 9-axis MotionTracking device designed for high-performance applications such as drone systems, wearable sensors, and IoT devices. It integrates a 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, and 3-axis magnetometer, along with a Digital Motion Processor™ (DMP™), all within a compact 3 × 3 × 1 mm (24-pin QFN) package. With an integrated temperature sensor, it delivers precise motion sensing and accurate orientation data for drone applications.
The ICM-20948 supports I2C and SPI communication and is widely used in unmanned systems, wearable sensors, and IoT applications. In drone applications, it enables stable flight while detecting obstacles and maintaining reliable performance even under temperature variations.
In addition, the ICM-20948 integrates a built-in Digital Motion Processor™, which offloads motion-sensing algorithm computations from the host processor, improving overall system efficiency and sensor performance.
As an alternative, the ICM-42670-P and ICM-42688-P are available, offering 6-axis IMU functionality with a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope. Unlike the ICM-20948, which provides full 9-axis sensing including a magnetometer, these alternatives are suitable for applications that do not require compass functionality but still demand high-performance motion tracking.
